Our Commitment
The territory, its history and traditions have always been our lifeblood, and our love for this land translates into activities connected to the environment, sport and the community.

BABBI FOR SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
Social Activities
The company has always been sensitive to social issues and supports charitable initiatives every year, promoting fundraising activities.
Since 2010, Babbi has also been a founding member of Romagna Solidale Onlus, a foundation of companies from Romagna that promotes the development of the local area through solidarity projects, studies on current social issues and direct donations to institutions, ONLUS and other associations.
Romagna Solidale Onlus
Babbi has been a founding member of Romagna Solidale Onlus since May 2010, when the association was formally established. Romagna Solidale is a corporate foundation created by companies from the Romagna region with a shared commitment to social solidarity.
The Corporate Foundation Romagna Solidale aims to:
- support meaningful social projects, particularly at a local level;
- study and address the many social challenges of today;
- provide direct donations to charities, non-profit organizations and associations working in the foundation’s areas of interest;
- promote the development of the Romagna territory through collaboration among its member companies.

AVSI – Association of Volunteers for International Service
Since 2008 Babbi has collaborated with AVSI – Association of Volunteers for International Service, a non-profit organization founded in 1972 and engaged in more than 100 development cooperation projects across Africa, Asia, Latin America, Eastern Europe and the Middle East.
AVSI’s initiatives range from social and educational programs to healthcare, from education to agriculture, including food security and urban development projects.
Thanks to the support of private donors and companies, the association raises nearly €30 million each year, enabling the implementation of essential projects in countries where hunger, poverty and conflict remain among the leading causes of death.

Babbi and Sport
Babbi’s deep connection with the Romagna region, combined with a passion for sport, led the company in 2000 to support local amateur football teams: Torre del Moro Calcio and Torre del Moro Futsal.

In 2007 Babbi also became a sponsor of Volley Club Cesena, a historic sports club founded in 1954 that has achieved numerous victories and promotions, and has developed players who now compete at national level.

Babbi is also an official sponsor of several beach volleyball champions.

Babbi and the Environment
PHOTOVOLTAIC ENERGY
With strong attention to environmental sustainability and the local territory, Babbi invested in photovoltaic energy as early as 2008, installing a 200 kWh solar panel system at its production facility in Bertinoro.
In 2011 the photovoltaic installation was expanded, doubling the covered surface. Today the system produces approximately 400,000 kWh of energy per year, more than 90% of which is used for internal consumption. This has allowed Babbi to prevent the release of over 235,000 kg of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.

WASTE SEPARATION
In 2019 Babbi continued its commitment to improving the sustainability of waste management by expanding its equipment with Falcor vertical presses.
These presses – used for handling cardboard, plastic film and laminated packaging – significantly reduce waste volume, lower management costs and contribute to a meaningful reduction in the amount of plastic sent to municipal waste collection.

Babbi and the Romagna Region
As part of its commitment to promoting tourism in Romagna, in 2012 Babbi became a partner of “Una Certa Romagna”, an association formed by municipalities across the region with the aim of preserving and promoting its traditions and cultural excellence through fairs, events and initiatives.
As a recognized name in the food sector, Babbi chose to associate its brand with this initiative, actively supporting the cultural, tourism, architectural and historical heritage that makes Romagna unique.
“Our territory has always been the lifeblood of our company. From it we draw inspiration through its history and traditions, which for us are synonymous with excellence. But even more importantly, from this land we receive the human resources that form the foundation of our business: people with faces and names, people who care deeply about their work and who see it not only as a means to support and grow their families, but also as an opportunity for personal and professional development. These, and only these, are the reasons that led us to pursue this shared initiative with the Municipality of Cesena and the entire territory of our extraordinary Romagna.”

Babbi and the University
The Emilia-Romagna region is home to the Alma Mater Studiorum – University of Bologna, the oldest university in the world and an institution of international academic significance.
Driven by a strong connection to its region and a desire to support local excellence, as well as by a longstanding commitment to investing in the potential of new generations, Babbi established a collaboration with Alma Mater Studiorum.
Since 2008 the company has maintained an agreement with the Department of Food Science in Cesena, through which research projects are periodically developed to support the company’s continuous improvement and innovation.
This collaboration reflects Babbi’s ongoing pursuit of innovation and the confidence the company places in universities and in the creativity and talent of young researchers.
